Summary
The Planner & Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials from suppliers to the warehouse. This position manages service parts, inventory levels, and supplier performance while maintaining strong supplier relationships. Working in a collaborative and innovative environment, the Planner & Buyer contributes directly to Prinoth’s operational efficiency, supplier performance, and overall customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
As a Planner & Buyer, you will manage the full procurement cycle and supplier lifecycle:
- Purchase service parts while maintaining optimal inventory levels
- Plan, track, and follow up on supplier deliveries to meet timelines
- Negotiate price lists, contracts, and supply agreements
- Manage contract renewals, supplier lead times, and source lists
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers
- Lead RFQs, benchmarking, and supplier selection activities
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and performance
- Manage volume discounts, surcharges, and commercial audits
- Resolve procurement issues including delivery delays, invoice discrepancies, and receiving errors
- Support Quality Assurance on major quality or delivery issues
- Manage supplier warranty claims
- Coordinate creation and negotiation of agreements (contracts, LOAs, NDAs)
- Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders on part availability and delivery status
- Monitor and escalate critical or missing parts as needed
- Collaborate with global/strategic sourcing teams (e.g., Europe) on pricing and supplier strategies
What You’ll Bring:
- DEC/certificate in procurement, administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a planner/buyer or similar role
- Strong negotiation and supplier management experience
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis)
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and stress management skills
- SAP knowledge (asset)
- Ability to read technical/mechanical drawings (asset)
Physical & Work Requirements
- Primarily office-based with a collaborative team
- Regular interaction with internal teams and external suppliers
- Occasional work in warehouse areas
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site / 2 days remote
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
