Planner Join a Growing Team at BIRNS! Founded in 1954, BIRNS, Inc. is an AS9100-certified global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-performance lighting and connector systems for deep ocean, marine, military, and nuclear power applications. BIRNS is growing, and we're looking for a Planner to grow with us! This role plays an important part in keeping production on track by coordinating schedules, monitoring materials and capacity, and working closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, Quality, and other teams to keep orders moving and meet customer commitments. The Planner reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager. What You'll Do Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, capacity, and production priorities. Monitor production progress, backlog, and order status to identify potential delays or scheduling conflicts. Coordinate with Purchasing to monitor material availability and address shortages that could impact production. Work with Engineering to ensure required drawings, bills of material, and engineering changes are available to support production. Partner with Sales and Customer Service to communicate production timelines, priorities, and schedule changes. Collaborate with Production, Quality, Shipping, and other teams to maintain production flow and meet delivery requirements. Maintain accurate planning and scheduling information within our ERP/MRP system and generate reports as needed. Analyze production and scheduling data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, lead times, and on-time delivery. Participate in cross-functional planning and continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred. 3–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or a related manufacturing environment preferred. Experience with make-to-order, configure-to-order, and/or make-to-stock manufacturing. Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple departments and priorities. Why Join BIRNS?
