a Planner, you will help shape merchandise strategies that contribute to the company's financial and operational success.
Role and Responsibilities of Planner:
As a Planner, you will develop and execute merchandise plans while managing inventory strategies across your assigned portfolio. You will collaborate with merchants, finance partners, external brands, and inventory teams to drive financial performance, optimize inventory, and achieve strategic business objectives.
• Develop and execute weekly, monthly, and annual merchandise plans and inventory strategies for assigned brands.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with external brands by sharing monthly projections, negotiating business decisions, and providing financial justification for recommendations.
• Partner with internal merchants to drive business growth through analysis of market trends, historical performance, customer insights, and sales data.
• Collaborate with FP&A to evaluate changes in margins, receipts, and other financial factors impacting overall business performance.
• Manage the end-to-end inventory planning process by communicating inventory strategies and providing direction to Inventory Analysts.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze inventory performance, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
• Lead, mentor, and develop an Inventory Analyst by providing coaching, guidance, resource allocation, and ongoing performance feedback.
• Promote a results-oriented team culture aligned with Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values.
• Participate in and lead category, functional, or enterprise-wide initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience of Planner:
• 4+ years of professional experience in merchandise planning, supply chain, finance, and/or inventory management.
• Strong financial and analytical aptitude with knowledge of sales, margin, inventory turns, and receipt planning.
• Ability to provide accurate, actionable, and forward-looking business insights.
• Experience analyzing large volumes of data to identify trends and develop business recommendations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal and external business partners.
• Ability to evaluate complex business issues using a logical and structured approach.
• Knowledge of inventory planning processes and inventory management best practices.
• Strong coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
• Ability to champion process improvements and organizational change.
• Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
Compensation and Benefits of Planner:
• Annual salary range of $88,200.00 - $150,000.00.
• Opportunity to earn additional compensation through the company's bonus plan.
• Compensation is based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs.
