Pizza Sourcing Associate

Job Summary Black Oak on Fifth is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Pizza Sourcing Associate to support ingredient sourcing, supplier research, and procurement coordination for restaurant operations. This role focuses on identifying reliable suppliers, comparing product quality and pricing, tracking ingredient availability, and maintaining accurate sourcing records. The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills, an interest in food products, and the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Research and identify suppliers for pizza ingredients and kitchen supplies. Assist with sourcing flour, cheese, tomatoes, sauces, vegetables, meats, and other toppings. Gather supplier quotations, product specifications, and pricing information. Compare product quality, availability, and costs to support sourcing decisions. Communicate with vendors regarding product details, ordering requirements, and delivery schedules. Maintain accurate supplier databases, sourcing records, and product documentation. Coordinate ingredient samples and assist with product quality evaluations. Monitor ingredient availability and identify potential supply shortages. Work with kitchen staff to understand ingredient specifications and purchasing needs. Assist procurement personnel with supplier comparisons and sourcing recommendations. Research alternative suppliers when products are unavailable or pricing changes. Track supplier responses and follow up on pending sourcing requests. Review product information and purchasing documentation for accuracy. Support efforts to maintain consistent ingredient quality and supply reliability. Prepare sourcing updates and reports for management. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, purchasing, or supply chain management preferred. Previous experience in sourcing, purchasing, procurement, inventory, or restaurant operations is an advantage. Basic knowledge of food ingredients and restaurant supply requirements. Strong research, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to compare supplier pricing and product specifications. Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and email. Accurate recordkeeping and documentation abilities. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple sourcing requests and deadlines. Professional approach to supplier communication and teamwork. Preferred Skills Familiarity with pizza ingredients, specialty cheeses, flour varieties, sauces, and toppings. Experience researching food distributors and local ingredient suppliers. Understanding of food quality, freshness, and storage requirements. Ability to evaluate supplier quotations and purchasing options. Strong vendor relationship and follow-up skills. Familiarity with purchasing and inventory management systems. Ability to organize sourcing information and communicate findings clearly. Work Environment Restaurant and food service purchasing environment.
