Pizza Sourcing Assistant

Job Summary Cremini's is seeking an organized and motivated Pizza Sourcing Assistant to support the identification, sourcing, and coordination of ingredients and supplies used in pizza preparation and restaurant operations. This position assists with researching suppliers, comparing product options, tracking ingredient availability, coordinating sample requests, and maintaining sourcing records. The ideal candidate has an interest in food products, strong communication skills, and the ability to help secure reliable supplies while supporting quality and cost-control objectives. Key Responsibilities Assist with sourcing pizza ingredients and essential kitchen supplies. Research potential suppliers, food distributors, and local vendors. Gather product information, pricing, and availability from suppliers. Compare ingredient specifications, quality, and purchasing options. Coordinate supplier inquiries and follow up on product quotations. Assist with sourcing flour, cheese, tomatoes, sauces, vegetables, meats, and other toppings. Maintain organized supplier databases and sourcing documentation. Track ingredient availability and communicate potential supply shortages. Coordinate product samples and assist with quality evaluations. Work with kitchen staff to understand ingredient specifications and operational needs. Support purchasing teams with supplier comparisons and sourcing recommendations. Monitor supplier delivery capabilities and general service reliability. Assist with reviewing invoices, product details, and order documentation. Identify alternative suppliers when products are unavailable. Prepare sourcing updates and reports for management. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, procurement, or supply chain management is preferred. Previous experience in purchasing, sourcing, inventory, or restaurant operations is an advantage. Basic knowledge of food ingredients and restaurant supply operations. Strong research, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to compare product specifications and pricing. Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and email. Good recordkeeping and documentation abilities. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams. Dependable, professional, and willing to learn. Preferred Skills Familiarity with pizza ingredients, specialty cheeses, flour varieties, sauces, and toppings. Experience researching food distributors and ingredient suppliers. Understanding of food quality, freshness, and storage requirements. Ability to evaluate supplier quotations and product options. Strong vendor communication and follow-up skills. Familiarity with purchasing or inventory management software. Ability to organize sourcing information and meet deadlines. Work Environment Restaurant, food service, and purchasing support environment. Regular collaboration with kitchen staff, managers, purchasing personnel, and suppliers.
