Pizza Purchasing Associate

Job Summary Terre| Pasta & Natural Wine is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Pizza Purchasing Associate to support ingredient purchasing, supplier coordination, and inventory management for restaurant operations. This role helps ensure the timely availability of quality ingredients, kitchen supplies, and other essential materials. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, an understanding of food service operations, and the ability to coordinate purchasing activities while maintaining accurate records and supporting cost-control objectives. Key Responsibilities Assist with purchasing pizza ingredients, food products, and kitchen supplies. Prepare and process purchase orders based on kitchen and management requirements. Monitor inventory levels of flour, cheese, tomatoes, sauces, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients. Coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules. Review incoming deliveries for accuracy, freshness, quality, and quantity. Maintain organized purchasing records, invoices, receipts, and supplier information. Communicate with kitchen staff to identify ingredient requirements and replenishment needs. Compare supplier prices and product specifications to support cost-effective purchasing. Track pending orders and follow up on delayed or incomplete deliveries. Assist with regular inventory counts and stock-level reviews. Support proper product storage, labeling, and first-in, first-out inventory rotation. Identify shortages, damaged products, and purchasing discrepancies. Help reduce unnecessary purchasing costs and minimize food waste. Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and delivery representatives. Prepare purchasing updates and reports for management when required. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or restaurant operations preferred. Familiarity with food ingredients and restaurant supply requirements. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Good written and verbal communication abilities. Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and purchasing systems. Ability to review invoices, compare prices, and track orders accurately. Understanding of food storage, freshness, and inventory rotation. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively with suppliers, kitchen employees, and management. Preferred Skills Knowledge of pizza ingredients, dough products, cheeses, sauces, and toppings. Experience coordinating orders with food distributors and local suppliers. Familiarity with food costing and inventory control procedures. Ability to monitor ingredient usage and anticipate purchasing needs. Strong vendor communication and coordination skills. Experience using purchase order or inventory management software. Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines efficiently. Work Environment Restaurant and food service operations setting. Regular collaboration with kitchen staff, restaurant managers, and suppliers. Combination of administrative purchasing duties and occasional inventory checks.
