Pizza Inventory Specialist

Job Summary Grimaldi's Pizzeria is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Pizza Inventory Specialist to support inventory management and daily restaurant operations. The successful candidate will help track food ingredients, monitor stock levels, receive deliveries, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure supplies are stored properly. This role is essential to helping the restaurant maintain product freshness, reduce waste, and ensure kitchen staff have the ingredients and materials needed to provide consistent food quality and customer service. Key Responsibilities Monitor inventory levels for pizza ingredients, including flour, cheese, tomato sauce, vegetables, meats, and other food products. Receive deliveries, inspect incoming items, and verify quantities against invoices or order records. Maintain accurate inventory counts and update stock records regularly. Organize food products, packaging materials, beverages, and other restaurant supplies in designated storage areas. Follow first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures to maintain product freshness and minimize waste. Check expiration dates, product quality, and storage conditions. Identify low-stock items and communicate replenishment needs to management. Assist with preparing purchase orders and coordinating supply requests. Investigate inventory discrepancies, shortages, damaged products, and delivery errors. Ensure refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods are stored according to food safety requirements. Maintain clean, orderly, and clearly labeled inventory and storage areas. Coordinate with kitchen staff, restaurant management, and suppliers to support efficient operations. Help monitor ingredient usage and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary waste. Follow workplace safety procedures and complete other inventory-related duties as assigned. Requirements and Qualifications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to count, record, and track inventory accurately. Good communication and teamwork skills. Basic computer skills and familiarity with spreadsheets or inventory systems are helpful. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Previous inventory, restaurant, stockroom, or warehouse experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food handling, storage, and stock rotation procedures is an advantage. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift or move supplies as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work Environment This position supports the daily operations of a busy pizzeria and involves working with kitchen staff, management, suppliers, and delivery personnel. Duties may include receiving shipments, checking stock, organizing storage areas, and handling food products in refrigerated, frozen, and dry storage environments.
