We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our Roanoke, Virginia team. This position will support daily pharmacy operations, including medication distribution, inventory management, receiving, and order processing. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced long-term care pharmacy environment. Responsibilities - Perform daily pharmacy technician and medication distribution duties in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. - Receive medication and supply shipments from vendors, verify accuracy, and properly enter received inventory into the pharmacy system. - Monitor inventory levels, place orders as authorized, and maintain adequate medication and supply stock. - Accurately enter medication orders and prescription information into the pharmacy system within the permitted scope of pharmacy technician practice. - Maintain floor stock and ensure medications and supplies are properly organized, labeled, and stored. - Perform routine expiration-date checks, stock rotation, and removal of expired or damaged products. - Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, shortages, and potential medication supply issues. - Assist with prescription filling, packaging, labeling, and preparation for delivery under pharmacist supervision. - Follow established pharmacy procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. - Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians, and supervisors to support timely and accurate medication dispensing. - Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and a willingness to support other departments when needed. - Complete other pharmacy-related duties as assigned by management, within the permitted scope of practice. Qualifications - Active Virginia Board of Pharmacy pharmacy technician registration required. - Long-term care pharmacy experience preferred. - Previous experience with pharmacy inventory management, purchasing, receiving, or medication distribution preferred. - Experience with Framework and/or ECM pharmacy software preferred. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. - Dependable attendance, strong work ethic, and demonstrated accountability. - Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members. - Ability to follow established procedures while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency. Physical Requirements - Ability to lift, carry, move, and position inventory and pharmacy supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. - Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull for extended periods. - Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other authorized material-handling equipment when applicable. Schedule 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM Rotating weekends and holidays as required by pharmacy operations.
