At Mercy One, you'll have the opportunity to grow your skills, work with state-of-the-art technology, and make a real difference in the lives of our patients.As a Pharmacy Buyer at MercyOne, you will:Serve as a liaison with physicians, nursing and/or departments for communication regarding controlled substance transactions, documentation and discrepanciesMaintain controlled substance records and ensure accurate billing to patients/departmentsDevelop and implement protocols for controlled substance distribution and trackingDeliver/restock and monitor expirations of controlled substances and non-scheduled medications in the narcotic boxes and automated dispensing cabinets located in surgical areas where general anesthesia is providedPerform physical inventory of controlled substances as assignedResearch controlled substance discrepancies and report unresolved discrepancies to Pharmacist-in-ChargeLabel and repackage bulk medications into unit dose system and maintain necessary records pertaining to repackagingMonitor controlled substance expiration dates in the inpatient pharmacy inventorySchedule:40 hours a weekVaried shiftsMinimum Qualifications: Certified Pharmacy TechnicianRegistered or eligible to register as pharmacy technician with the State Board of Pharmacy Examiners.3 – 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience desirableHigh school diploma or GEDAt MercyOne, we care deeply about your well-being—both physical and mental.
