Role Description The Petroleum Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site position based in Winnipeg MB. This role coordinates daily fuel deliveries by assigning routes and schedules to drivers, ensuring customer orders are accurately and promptly fulfilled. The dispatcher monitors fleet movements, tracks load status, and adjusts plans in response to changing conditions, such as traffic, weather, or urgent customer needs. Responsibilities include communicating with drivers and customers, maintaining up-to-date records in dispatch and routing systems, and verifying that all activities comply with safety, environmental, and transportation regulations. The role also involves collaborating with operations and management to resolve service issues, optimize routes, and support continuous improvement in logistics performance. Qualifications Experience in transportation or logistics dispatch, ideally within fuel or bulk commodity delivery. Strong organizational and time-management abilities to coordinate multiple routes, drivers, and customer requests. Effective communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams in a clear, professional manner. Comfort with dispatch software, GPS systems, and basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, databases). Knowledge of transportation safety standards and regulations relevant to petroleum or hazardous materials (or willingness to learn). Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced or emergency situations. Attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping, documentation, and scheduling. High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, or a related field is an asset. Prior experience in the petroleum industry or similar regulated environment is considered an advantage.
