ConfidentialOverview As a Permit Expeditor, you’ll work with city, county, and state agencies to secure the permits our projects need. You’ll track applications, resolve issues, and help keep approvals on schedule. The role combines remote work with occasional driving throughout Southern California for permit submissions, agency visits, or inspections—so you won’t need to be in an office every day. You’ll be a great fit if you rely on your to-do list, read the fine print carefully, and enjoy figuring things out with a little research. Attention to detail, organization, and resourcefulness are essential to keeping applications accurate and projects moving forward. Duties Act as the primary liaison between project teams and permitting authorities to expedite permit approvals. Prepare, review, and submit permit applications, ensuring all documentation aligns with local codes and project specifications. Track permit statuses regularly and follow up proactively with agencies to resolve issues or delays. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to gather required documentation and ensure permits align with construction plans. Maintain comprehensive records of applications, correspondence, approvals, and renewals for audit readiness. Assist in city inspections. Travel throughout Southern California as needed for permit submissions, agency visits, and inspections. Experience Proven experience in construction project management or civil engineering project coordination, with a focus on permitting processes. Ability to research local building codes, zoning laws, and permitting procedures across multiple jurisdictions. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple permit applications simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with city officials, contractors, and internal teams. Strong organization and resourcefulness, including the ability to research requirements and solve problems independently.
