Job Title : Performance Leader - Receiving Inspection - 1st Shift Reporting To: Management, Quality Control Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY As the Receiving Inspection Performance Leader – 1st Shift, you will have 3 shifts of operational responsibility for Mechanical and Electronics teams in our Receiving Inspection area. Along with operational responsibility for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, you will have direct reporting supervision for a team of 10-20 Inspectors, a Material Handler Inspector and a RI Tech Ops Coordinator. You will also be responsible for capacity planning, staffing, hiring, training and development, talent, and performance management; and continuous improvement for your team(s). They work closely with PEs, QEs and SQEs and Value Stream Organizations to ensure that our inspection teams and processes are operating as expected and in alignment with Site Strategic and Tactical objectives. To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in a related discipline and three years of related experience in inspection methodology/manufacturing practices and previous supervision/team lead experience OR Associate’s Degree in related discipline and five years of related experience in inspection methodology/manufacturing practices and previous supervision/team lead experience. Lean Leader Experience also considered as equivalent Demonstrate a working understanding of inspection and manufacturing responsibilities, as well as the functions of supporting departments, including Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Inspection Services, and Logistics Material Handling. As a Performance Leader you will: Lead the daily activities of the inspection team by fostering a safe, positive, and productive work environment; providing real-time coaching and problem resolution; maintaining a visible presence on the floor; and ensuring consistent communication regarding policies, operational priorities, business performance, and site objectives. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide performance feedback, support career development, build technical and professional skills, and assess employee engagement and overall team morale. Manage workforce planning activities, including staffing, scheduling, cross-training, recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts; identify resource and training gaps and develop plans to address current and future operational needs. Perform daily Gemba walks within assigned areas to monitor adherence to Inspection Core Processes and drive timely resolution of issues related to safety, quality, 5S/FOD compliance, and work-in-process management. Proactively identify and address operational risks by monitoring safety, quality, and workflow challenges and coordinating with cross-functional teams to implement effective mitigation strategies. Support the site's tiered management process by facilitating effective daily Tier 1 meetings, driving issue escalation and resolution, and actively participating in Tier 2 and Tier 3 discussions as required.
