Per Diem Long-Distance Medical Transportation Driver

NationWide NEMT is seeking experienced, dependable professional drivers for long-distance, state-to-state medical transportation. This is a PER DIEM, Drivers are contacted when trips become available and may choose whether they are available to accept each assignment. You are not expected to remain at home waiting for work or keep your schedule open at all times. If you are unavailable for a particular trip, you may decline it without penalty. Once you accept a trip, however, we expect you to remain committed to that assignment. Please read the entire description before applying. What This Job Is Really Like NationWide NEMT specializes in long-distance interstate medical transportation. Trips may take you hundreds or thousands of miles away from Florida. Our workload depends entirely on patient transportation demand. There may be busy periods when you work several days in a row, followed by periods when there are no trips available. Drivers must be comfortable with: Being away from home for several consecutive days Occasionally working 3–7 days or more during busy periods Driving during daytime, night time, weekends, and holidays Working an irregular and changing schedule Receiving trip opportunities on relatively short notice Spending extended periods traveling inside the vehicle Resting or sleeping in the vehicle during designated off-duty periods Going without a hotel on certain nights when the trip schedule does not require one Occasionally going longer than normal between showers because of travel schedules and trip logistics Eating meals at irregular times when necessary When resting in the vehicle, drivers are not expected to sleep upright in a regular passenger seat . The off-duty driver has access to a designated private bunk/resting area with privacy curtains , allowing them to lie down, rest, and sleep during their designated rest period. Hotels are provided when operationally appropriate, but drivers should not expect a hotel every night . If you need to be home every night, require a predictable weekly schedule, or depend on guaranteed weekly hours, this position will not be a good fit. You are not required to accept every trip . If you are unavailable, already have plans, need time off, or cannot take a particular assignment, you may decline it. Declining an individual trip is not held against you . You are not expected to sit at home waiting for the company to call or keep every day open in case a trip becomes available.
