Wuxly is a Canadian leader in advanced textile integration, tactical apparel, smart textiles and soft-goods manufacturing—pairing design, pattern engineering, supply chain, and scalable production to deliver for defence and government clients. We operate as the commercial and operational bridge between breakthrough textile technologies and end users—acting as a systems integrator and program manager from concept to delivery. Our work sits in the dual-use arena: mission-ready solutions for Defence & Tactical, extreme cold weather (uniforms, outerwear, shelters, covers, concealment) alongside a growing consumer business, translating that same performance standard into premium outerwear and everyday gear built for real conditions. Our products and programs are executed under ISO 9001/14001 discipline and shaped by performance proven in the world’s harshest environments. Reporting to Wuxly's VP, Industrial Design & Product Development, the Pattern Maker is responsible for transforming product concepts and technical requirements into precise, production-ready patterns. Working closely with Industrial Design, Technical Design, Product Development and Manufacturing, this role owns pattern development, grading, fit refinement and pattern integrity from initial prototype through production approval. The Opportunity: Develop production-ready patterns for technical apparel, outerwear and soft goods. Lead pattern development, grading, fit refinement and pattern optimization. Translate complex design and performance requirements into manufacturable pattern solutions. Support Defence, Government, tactical and premium consumer product programs. What You’ll Get Up To: Pattern Development• Develop first patterns, production patterns and graded size ranges. Create and maintain digital patterns using industry-standard CAD software. Translate design concepts, sketches and specifications into accurate pattern solutions. Develop patterns supporting mobility, layering, equipment integration and ergonomic requirements. Own pattern accuracy and integrity from first prototype through production approval. Maintain organized digital pattern libraries and approved pattern standards. Fit & Pattern Refinement• Participate in fit sessions and prototype reviews. Evaluate garment balance, proportion, mobility, comfort and functional fit. Refine patterns following fittings, wearer trials, testing and manufacturing feedback. Identify and resolve pattern-related issues affecting construction, performance or appearance. Incorporate approved fit corrections into production patterns and graded size ranges. Grading & Production Readiness• Develop and maintain accurate grading rules across required size ranges. Validate graded patterns for consistency, fit and manufacturing requirements. Optimize pattern layouts for material utilization and manufacturing efficiency. Review markers and pattern nesting to support material yield targets. Ensure production patterns accurately reflect approved specifications and construction requirements. Manufacturing & Materials• Work with Technical Design, factories and suppliers to resolve pattern-related production issues. Review samples for pattern accuracy, fit and construction compatibility. Develop pattern solutions for insulation systems, laminates and advanced technical textiles. Account for shrinkage, material behaviour, seam allowances and construction requirements. Support scalable manufacturing while maintaining intended fit and product performance. Quality & Collaboration• Collaborate with Industrial Design, Technical Design, Product Development, Manufacturing and Quality. Maintain pattern version control and accurate revision records. Support ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 processes and documentation requirements. Standardize pattern libraries, grading rules and pattern-development practices. Contribute to continuous improvement across Wuxly's product-development process. AI & Digital Innovation• Use AI responsibly to support rese…
