Party America Store Manager

Job Overview Party America is seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Store Manager to oversee our daily retail operations in Reno, Nevada. We are a locally owned party supply store specializing in balloons, decorations, and celebration essentials. We are looking for a hands-on leader who takes initiative, holds employees accountable, maintains an organized and efficient store, and delivers exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will be comfortable independently managing day-to-day operations, supervising employees, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring the store runs smoothly without constant oversight from ownership. This is an active, hands-on management position. Our Store Manager is expected to lead by example and assist with daily store responsibilities when needed. Key Responsibilities Store Operations & Management Oversee daily store operations and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently. Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and register reconciliation. Ensure the store remains clean, organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing. Monitor daily sales and identify opportunities to improve store performance. Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and operational standards. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally. Communicate regularly with ownership regarding store operations, employee performance, and inventory needs. Identify operational problems and take initiative to resolve them. Employee Supervision & Leadership Create and manage employee schedules based on store needs. Supervise employees and ensure assigned responsibilities are completed. Train new employees on store procedures, customer service, POS operations, and balloon services. Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and performance. Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability to team members. Assist with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees. Maintain a positive, professional, and productive work environment. Address employee concerns and escalate serious issues to ownership. Inventory Management & Purchasing Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and inventory organization. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate merchandise reordering. Ensure incoming shipments are received and entered accurately into the POS system. Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies. Monitor damaged merchandise, missing inventory, and inventory adjustments. Ensure merchandise is properly priced, labeled, and displayed. Maintain organized storage areas and ensure products are easy to locate. Assist with vendor communications and purchase orders. Customer Service & Balloon Operations Ensure customers receive friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service. Assist customers with party supplies, decorations, and balloon orders. Oversee helium balloon inflation, balloon bouquets, and custom orders. Ensure balloon orders are completed accurately and ready by promised pickup times. Train employees on balloon inflation procedures and order preparation. Address customer concerns related to balloon orders and merchandise. Assist with balloon services and sales floor responsibilities during busy periods. Sales & Business Performance Monitor daily sales activity and overall store performance. Encourage employees to recommend additional products and services. Ensure pricing and promotional displays are accurate. Identify opportunities to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction. Help minimize inventory loss, unnecessary expenses, and operational inefficiencies. Qualifications Required: Minimum 2 years of retail management experience. Previous experience supervising and scheduling employees. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
