Parts Warehouse Manager
Southport Truck GroupJob Summary Responsible for overseeing the successful operation of the Parts Warehouse environment and team. This is done by implementing and training on processes and best practices as directed by the Parts Manager. Duties include creating a positive work environment, supervising employees throughout the day, problem solving to provide customer support, and managing the Warehouse operations. Essential Duties Team Leadership & Development Supervise, train, coach, and develop Parts Warehouse employees and Delivery Drivers. Assist with hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and employee development. Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer service. Provide day-to-day guidance and support to warehouse personnel. Warehouse Operations Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, delivery, returns, and vendor credits. Ensure timely and accurate processing of orders. Coordinate and optimize delivery schedules and routing to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction. Maintain established warehouse processes, procedures, and operational standards. Inventory Control Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and process compliance. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and receiving variances. Process and monitor branch transfers and inventory movements. Support inventory organization and storage practices to maximize efficiency and accuracy. Safety & Compliance Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures. Coordinate forklift training and certify proper operation of material handling equipment. Promote safe work practices and promptly address safety concerns. Equipment & Facility Management Oversee maintenance and inspection schedules for forklifts, warehouse equipment, delivery vehicles, and related assets. Ensure warehouse equipment remains operational, safe, and compliant. Support facility organization utilizing Lean and 5S principles. Customer & Internal Support Assist in resolving customer concerns related to parts fulfillment and delivery. Partner with Parts Sales and Service departments to ensure timely availability of parts for customer and service needs. Maintain a high level of service for both internal and external customers. Administrative Responsibilities Review employee timecards, attendance records, and time-off requests. Maintain operational records, reports, and inventory documentation. Monitor key warehouse performance metrics and recommend process improvements. Participate in departmental meetings and operational planning activities. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, inventory accuracy, and customer service. Lead and support process improvement initiatives and operational projects. Implement best practices to enhance overall warehouse performance. Additional Responsibilities Participate in management meetings and contribute to dealership-wide initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or general education diploma (GED); Associates degree or greater, preferred. 3+ years of warehouse/operations experience. Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout shift. Must be willing and able to walk 3+ miles a shift. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Computer proficiency and the ability to efficiently use a variety of business software and technology platforms. Intermediate knowledge level with Microsoft Suite.
