Parts Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Parts Technician to join our team. This role involves managing inventory, sourcing parts, and supporting the supply chain processes within our truck repair shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience with procurement and customer service, though we are willing to train. We are a family owned and operated business with over 30 years of being in the truck and trailer repair industry. The Parts Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the availability of quality parts to meet operational needs efficiently and effectively. The most valuable assets to bring forward is a positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to work with a team. We are looking for a passionate individual who would be excited to join our growing team. Responsibilities Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate data entry into inventory software. Source and procure parts through negotiation with suppliers, maintaining cost-effective purchasing practices. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials. Communicate with mechanics to identify required parts. Assist customers with parts selection, providing excellent customer service both in person and via phone or email. Maintain organized storage of parts. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely when moving heavy or bulky items. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment in accordance with company policies. Experience Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers. Prior dealership experience is highly preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience in manufacturing or supply chain is beneficial. Strong data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping. Experience in purchasing, sourcing, negotiation, or procurement processes. Mechanical knowledge related to highway trucks and trailers is advantageous.
