Parts Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE: Oversees the parts operations within the Branch to provide the highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Optimizes parts department processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: · Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them. · Trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all parts department staff. · Assists with the annual operating budget for the parts department. · Maintains a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the do-it-yourself public. · Establishes pricing parameters in each customer category that generate sufficient gross profit, produce a satisfactory profit while maintaining customer loyalty. · Establishes individual parts inventory levels and balances them for maximum turnover. · Ensures that parts inventory turns. · Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence. · Ensures that all parts are properly tagged so that the dealership recovers full credit from the factory. · Supervises stock order procedures. · Analyzes sales, expenses, and inventory monthly to maintain profit goals. · Works with the service manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs. · Provides technical assistance to parts department employees. · Coordinates a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork. · Directs shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing. · Directs outside parts and counter sales efforts. · Develops, enforces, and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. · Enforces safety requirements. · Maintains professional appearance. · Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies. · All other duties assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. · Excellent communication and managerial skills. · Ability to operate the department profitably within dealership guidelines · High school diploma or the equivalent. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office products required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Experience in a parts department within the Material Handling Industry Preferred. · One year of supervisory experience preferred WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work Environment: · Most work is performed in an office environment. This position may travel to all Conger Industries locations and respond to customer sites on occasion. Physical Demands: There is potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, or solvents which require knowledge of proper safety procedures. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously will full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc. Employee must have normal manual dexterity and be able to effectively manipulate keyboard and phone. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Location: In person
