Parts Specialist / Shop Locksmith (Hybrid)

Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable professional to join our team in a hybrid role as a Parts Specialist & Shop Locksmith . This dual-responsibility position is essential to keeping our technical operations running smoothly across all Arizona locations. In this role, you will manage shop inventory, oversee parts ordering and pricing accuracy, perform automotive key programming, and serve as a Shop Locksmith. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong inventory management skills, and demonstrates solid technical mechanical aptitude. Key Responsibilities 1. Parts & Inventory Management Inventory Control: Maintain, track, and update inventory counts for all shop locations and secure cage parts. Ordering & Procurement: Dedicate the first hour of every working day (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM) to placing and managing all necessary shop parts orders. Site Audits: Spend one full day each week traveling to each Arizona shop location to verify parts accuracy and reconcile physical inventory with records. Price Book Maintenance: Ensure the company price book remains current, accurate, and aligned with supplier costs and shop rates. Receiving & Shop Organization: Assist parts department with receiving, logging, and stocking incoming inventory shipments. Utilize down time to maintain clean, organized parts storage across shop sites. 2. Shop Locksmith Operations Execute daily shop locksmith duties following the initial morning parts ordering window. Automotive Key Programming: Perform automotive key cutting, transponder key programming, key fob coding, and remote diagnostics using specialized shop equipment. Re-key, repair, assemble, and service lock systems and keying components according to shop work orders. Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe, efficient manner. Daily & Weekly Work Layout 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM (Daily) Parts Procurement Order required shop parts, monitor supply requests, review open orders. 8:00 AM – End of Day (Standard Days) Shop Locksmith Operations Perform bench locksmith duties, automotive key programming/fob coding, repair assemblies, complete work orders. 1 Day / Week (Site Visit Day) Inventory Verification Visit 1 scheduled Arizona location (Phoenix, Arcadia or Chandler shop) to audit parts counts and ensure catalog accuracy. As Needed / Down Time Shop & Receiving Support Assist parts department with incoming shipments, clean/organize inventory shelves and cages. Qualifications & Skills Experience: Prior experience in inventory management, parts ordering, or locksmithing/bench tech operations preferred. Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience or familiarity with automotive key programming tools and key cutting equipment. Attention to Detail: High precision in tracking serial numbers, updating pricing, and handling stock reconciliation. Organization: Ability to prioritize daily purchasing tasks while seamlessly transitioning into technical bench work. Mobility: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed for multi-site travel within Arizona). Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and organize parts inventory boxes (up to 50 lbs) and sit/stand for extended work periods.
