Full Job Description Full time, hourly position with weekly overtime. MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN AND POSSESS A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE WITH CLEAN DRIVING RECORD. **J.R. Tharpe Trucking is looking for a dependable, organized Parts & Service Coordinator to join our maintenance team.** This position is responsible for helping keep our trucks and equipment moving by coordinating parts, repairs, vendors, DOT compliancy and maintenance information. The ideal candidate is organized, communicates well, can work in a fast-paced environment, and understands that getting the right part or repair completed quickly is critical to keeping a trucking operation running. What You Will Do * Communicate with drivers, mechanics, management and parts suppliers * Identify and source parts needed for repairs and routine maintenance * Obtain pricing and availability from parts vendors * Order parts and track orders, backorders, and deliveries * Verify that parts received are correct and properly assigned to the appropriate truck or equipment * Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts purchases, and service history * Review invoices for accuracy and make sure parts and labor are properly identified * Help track trucks and equipment that are down for repair * Communicate parts status and expected delivery times to management and operations * Assist with warranty claims and warranty-related documentation * Help maintain an organized inventory of commonly used parts and supplies * Research replacement parts and identify correct part numbers when necessary * Follow up on outstanding repairs, parts orders, and vendor issues * Help identify opportunities to reduce parts and repair costs without sacrificing reliability *Pickup parts when needed to minimize equipment downtime. * Perform other maintenance and administrative duties as needed What We're Looking For * Strong organizational and follow-up skills * Excellent communication skills * Ability to manage multiple repairs and parts orders at the same time * Good computer skills and ability to learn maintenance software * Ability to research parts using manufacturer and vendor information * Strong attention to detail * Ability to work independently and make decisions within established guidelines * Dependable, responsible, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks * Comfortable communicating with drivers, mechanics, vendors, and management Experience Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: * Truck or diesel parts * Heavy equipment parts * Fleet maintenance * Truck repair or service * Parts counter or parts management * Automotive or commercial vehicle service * Purchasing or procurement * Fleet maintenance administration * Parts inventory management **Experience in the trucking industry is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who has strong organizational and mechanical aptitude.** The Right Person for This Job This is a hands-on coordination position. You don't necessarily have to be a mechanic, but you should be comfortable talking with mechanics and understanding what they need. You should be the type of person who doesn't let things fall through the cracks — if a truck is waiting on a part, you know what was ordered, when it is expected, where it is coming from, and what needs to happen next. Time management skills are a must. Flexibility to changing priorities is a must.
