Parts Manager - Equipment Dealership

What We're Looking For in You Self-starter and go-getter: you take initiative, set your own priorities, and follow through without being micromanaged Team player: you work well with service, sales, and management, and you care about the whole dealership doing well, not just your department Builder of processes: you like creating systems for ordering, inventory, and counter workflow, and you keep improving them Able to carry out a plan: you can take the direction we're heading and turn it into daily action and measurable results Positive and professional: you keep a good attitude, treat customers and coworkers with respect, and stay focused on what moves the business forward Key Responsibilities Build and Lead the Department Develop and write down parts department processes for ordering, receiving, binning, returns, special orders, and counter workflow Set goals for sales, gross profit, fill rate, and inventory accuracy, and track progress Work with the General Manager on the department's growth plan and carry it out Train and support counter staff as the department grows Parts Sales & Customer Service Run the front parts counter: look up, quote, and sell parts to walk-in, phone, and fleet customers Build lasting relationships with contractors, farmers, landscapers, and commercial accounts Find the right part using OEM catalogs, serial numbers, and machine configurations Price parts correctly and protect department margin Service Department Support Work closely with the Service Manager so technicians have parts when they need them Plan parts for upcoming jobs, warranty repairs, and backorders Process warranty parts claims and returns according to manufacturer requirements Inventory Management Order stock and special-order parts from OEM and aftermarket vendors Keep inventory accurate through receiving, cycle counts, and physical inventories Handle obsolete parts, stock returns, and core returns Move parts between company locations as needed and keep transfers documented Qualifications 3+ years of parts experience at an equipment, ag, or truck dealership (major OEM brand experience strongly preferred) Leadership or lead-counter experience preferred Experience building or improving processes in a parts department is a strong plus Comfortable with a dealer management system (DMS) and OEM parts catalogs Mechanical aptitude and a working knowledge of compact equipment, tractors, and attachments Strong customer service and communication skills Organized and able to juggle counter customers, shop needs, and ordering at once Basic computer skills (Excel, email, online vendor portals) Pay $45,000 to $65,000 per year base salary, plus monthly commission on parts department gross profit.
