Parts Manager
Trucks and BeyondsTAJ Automotive is seeking an organized and dependable Parts Manager to take ownership of our parts operation and help keep the shop moving efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who understands inventory, knows how to work with vendors, and can stay ahead of what technicians need. You'll be responsible for making sure the right parts are available at the right time while controlling costs, maintaining accurate inventory, and minimizing delays. What You'll Do Manage the ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of automotive parts Maintain appropriate inventory levels based on shop demand Source parts from vendors and compare availability, pricing, and delivery times Work closely with technicians and service staff to identify parts requirements Track outstanding orders and follow up on delayed or backordered items Verify incoming parts for accuracy and condition Maintain organized and accurate inventory records Process returns, warranties, credits, and defective parts Monitor parts costs and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary spending Build productive relationships with suppliers and parts vendors Conduct routine inventory counts and investigate discrepancies Keep parts and storage areas clean, organized, and easy to navigate Help establish better purchasing and inventory procedures as the operation grows What Will Help You Succeed We're looking for someone who is organized, resourceful, and comfortable making decisions in a busy service environment. Strong candidates may have experience in: Automotive parts or parts-counter operations Auto repair or dealership environments Inventory or warehouse management Purchasing and procurement Fleet or equipment maintenance Distribution or supply operations Automotive parts knowledge is strongly preferred, but we're also interested in candidates with substantial inventory and purchasing experience who can quickly learn our operation. Qualifications 2+ years of relevant parts, inventory, purchasing, warehouse, or automotive experience preferred Strong organizational and inventory-control skills Comfortable working with vendors and negotiating or comparing purchasing options Basic computer and inventory-system proficiency Ability to manage multiple orders and priorities at the same time Strong attention to detail and follow-through Clear communication skills High school diploma or equivalent Why This Role Matters When parts aren't available, work stops. The Parts Manager plays a direct role in keeping technicians productive, customers' vehicles moving through the shop, and the overall operation running efficiently.
