Parts Inventory Specialist
Tri-County EquipmentCompany Overview Tri-County Equipment is a full-service equipment dealership based in Eastern Michigan, specializing in the sale and service of John Deere farm, lawn, and commercial work site products. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality solutions that meet our customers' equipment, repair, and maintenance needs. Job Summary Every part that comes through the door has a paper trail. When that trail is clean, parts get checked in right, vendors get paid on time, and on-hand counts tell the truth. When it isn’t, receipts pile up, negative inventory creeps in, and Accounts Payable is left chasing answers. Tri County Equipment, headquartered in Sandusky, Michigan, is looking for a Parts Inventory Administrator who can keep receiving paperwork moving across every location, catch discrepancies before they become problems, and be the go-to connection between our locations, the parts team, and Accounts Payable. Our mission is to have a solution for every acre, and we can only do that when our customers have what they need. The Role As Parts Inventory Administrator, you’ll manage the day-to-day receiving paperwork process across all Tri County Equipment locations. You’ll make sure every incoming part is accurately documented, verified against its purchase order, and processed on time, serving as a key point of contact between location team members, department staff, and Accounts Payable. You’ll drive negative on-hand inventory to zero, get verified paperwork to AP within 3–5 business days of receipt, and help bring standardized parts and inventory processes to every location. What You’ll Do Receive and verify Check packing slips, receipts, and delivery paperwork against purchase orders Flag discrepancies in quantities, part numbers, or pricing and work with the vendor or location to fix them Monitor negative on-hand inventory and follow up on any exceptions Keep paperwork moving Submit verified paperwork to Accounts Payable within 3–5 business days of receipt Keep AP updated on credits, returns, adjustments, and anything on hold Keep purchase orders, receipts, returns, and credits organized in our business systems Support the parts team Stay in touch with every location to collect paperwork and confirm parts are checked in correctly Handle ordering for assigned vendors and provide backup ordering as needed Help with physical inventory counts, routine reports, and projects for the Parts Manager Join us as a Parts Inventory Specialist where your expertise will drive operational excellence! We’re committed to supporting your professional growth while providing a collaborative environment that values your contributions. What You Bring 1+ years of experience in parts or inventory, ideally in the heavy or agricultural equipment industry Working knowledge of automated inventory management systems Strong communication, math, and analytical skills A team-first approach—you communicate proactively and own your work Multi-location or heavy equipment experience a plus Why Tri County Real ownership. You’ll own the receiving paperwork process end to end—from packing slip to AP submission—across every location, not just one parts counter. Visible impact. Zero negative on-hand inventory, on-time AP submissions, and clean records are clear scoreboards, and you’ll move them. One team. Tri County prides itself on doing things the right way for our customers and each other, and this role sits right at the center of how our locations work together. A strong foundation. Established locations, a respected name in the territory, and a long-term partnership with John Deere.
