Parts Counter Specialist

Arrow Trailer & Equipment Co. is currently seeking a Parts Counter Specialist to join our team. Arrow Trailer & Equipment Co. was incorporated in December 1956 and has served Central Illinois for nearly 70 years as a family-owned, full-service trailer dealer. Our business includes Parts, Service, Trailer Sales, Container Sales & Rentals, and Trailer Modifications , with a 12-bay service facility. This position will primarily support our Parts Department while working closely with our Service and Sales departments. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, mechanically inclined, and committed to providing excellent customer service. Strong communication between our customers, Parts Department, and Service Department is an important part of this position. What We're Looking For: We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate should have: Excellent customer service skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn truck and trailer parts. Ability to research and identify parts using catalogs, vendor resources, measurements, VIN information, and other available information. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company software and vendor systems. Strong organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, and priorities. Ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, technicians, and other departments. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Previous experience in truck/trailer parts, automotive parts, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, mechanical repair, or a related field is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Answer incoming parts calls promptly and professionally. Assist customers with truck and trailer parts and components both over the phone and at the parts counter. Identify the correct parts for customers and our Service Department by researching, looking up, and cross-referencing parts and components. Provide accurate pricing, availability, and product information. Prepare parts quotes and estimates for customers and the Service Department. Order parts and follow up on special orders and backordered items. Communicate with customers regarding parts availability and order status. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships. Manage and respond to the Parts Department email account. Work closely with the Service Department to ensure parts are identified and ordered accurately and in a timely manner. Pull and supply parts for technicians based on repair orders. Receive incoming parts and verify orders for accuracy. Assist with inventory management, including stocking shelves, organizing bins, and performing inventory/bin audits. Assist with warehouse responsibilities, including loading and unloading deliveries and maintaining an organized work area. Help maintain an organized and efficient Parts Department. Perform additional duties as needed to support the daily operations of the company.
