Parts Counter Associate

Job Overview Fields Equipment Company, your local John Deere dealership, is looking for a motivated and organized Parts Counter Associate to join our team. We are dedicated to providing fast and courteous service to our customers and service technicians. Duties Assist customers in identifying and selecting the correct parts, accessories, and related products using product knowledge and inventory systems. Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems, handling cash, credit, or electronic payments with professionalism. Manage inventory control by stocking, organizing, and maintaining parts storage to ensure product availability and accurate stock. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person, demonstrating strong communication skills and product knowledge. Collaborate with service technicians and sales teams to fulfill parts orders promptly, ensuring timely delivery for repairs, maintenance, and new equipment. Uphold safety standards by maintaining a clean work environment, adhering to maintenance protocols, and ensuring proper handling of parts and accessories. Skills Excellent communication skills to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions. Proficiency in inventory management systems and familiarity with POS platforms for sales processing. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases effectively. Experience with parts processes, dealership operations, or retail sales environments preferred. Exceptional organizational skills to manage stocking, order fulfillment, and inventory control efficiently. Effective communication skills to provide clear information to customer and employees alike. Basic math skills including retail math for accurate pricing, discounts, and cash handling procedures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Experience in operating a forklift is preferred. This position is responsible for selling parts to customers over-the-counter as well as over the phone, and providing necessary parts to the dealership service department.
