Parts Clerk and Asset Manager
Summertown Metals, LLCSummertown Metals is looking for a self-starting, self- directed, motivated person to help in our maintenance department as the Parts Clerk and Asset Manager. This position is full-time position which is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, vision, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, STD, LTD, life, 401K, PTO and vacation. Job duties include, but are not limited to Organize current scheduling processes and update where needed. Improve reliability and documentation on completion of jobs. Coordinate preventative maintenance alongside completion of corrective maintenance. Understand priorities and have a plan in place for items that may fall through or cause delay (waiting on parts). Ensure all duties performed are done in compliance with all safety procedures. Keep all records organized and available upon request. Including but not limited to: Insurances, registrations, placards, inspection stickers, IFTA stickers, fire extinguishers, and triangle cones Mechanic shop maintenance scheduling contact. Timeframe estimator, record keeping, priority setter. Calls or request forms come to you, get entered in a data base etc. for repair, requester gets notified if its approved or not and estimated timeframe expected for completion. Communicate with the shipping department: vehicle repairs to schedule and equipment out of service. Collect vehicle inspection reports daily and update maintenance schedule to ensure items are completed daily. Keep in contact with drivers and communicate equipment repairs. Monitor and provide assistance for e-log and pre-pass. Minor repairs, jump starts, wiring repairs that can be easily done. Monitor fuel levels on yard. Monitor and maintain filter and oil stock inventory and check off new arriving inventory. Stock items after being received and verify proper parts have been shipped. Parts ordering and point of contact. Assist in other repairs whenever time allows or when temporary help is needed. Communication of jobs is of utmost importance and must be priority when jobs will not be done in a timely manner.
