Job Title: Parts Assistant / Warehouse & Counter Support Location: Palmerston, Ontario Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent Shift: Monday to Friday, [e.g., 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM] Wage: $18.60 – $28.60 depending on experience About Us Minto Truck Centre is a full-service commercial heavy truck dealership proudly keeping our customers' fleets rolling. We represent top-tier medium- and heavy-duty trucks and offer complete parts, service, and warranty support. We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Parts Assistant to join our busy parts department. Role Overview As a Parts Assistant , you will be the backbone of our inventory and parts supply chain. You will work closely with our Parts Advisors, Service Advisors, and 310T Technicians to ensure parts are received, organized, staged for work orders, and dispatched efficiently. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Put-Away: Unload, unpack, and verify daily freight and stock orders against packing slips; inspect for damages and shelf items accurately in bins. Technician & Shop Support: Pick and stage parts, filters, fluids, and hardware for our service technicians to keep shop turnaround times fast. Electronic Catalog & Lookup: Assist with basic parts lookups, cross-referencing OEM/aftermarket part numbers, and navigating electronic parts catalogs (EPC). Core & Warranty Processing: Tag, package, and document heavy-duty core returns (alternators, injectors, brake shoes, turbos) and warranty items for manufacturer return. Shipping & Local Delivery: Package outgoing parts shipments and occasionally run local hot-shot deliveries or dealer-transfers to fleet customers or body shops. Inventory Control: Assist with regular cycle counts, bin maintenance, and keeping the parts warehouse organized and safe. Qualifications & Requirements Previous parts, automotive, or heavy truck/machinery warehouse experience is an asset (willing to train an eager candidate with mechanical aptitude). Familiarity with commercial truck components (suspension, air brakes, diesel engine parts, electrical) is a big plus. Comfortable with dealership management systems (DMS), inventory software, and basic computer tasks. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and safely handle heavy, bulky components (brake drums, rotors, batteries). Valid G Driver’s License with a clean driving record (for local parts runs). Strong attention to detail, reliability, and clear communication skills. Forklift certification is a strong asset (or willingness to be certified on site). What We Offer Competitive hourly rate with regular reviews.
