Parts and Materials Expediter

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Parts and Materials Expediter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fabrication drawings in order to determine what materials and inspected parts need to be delivered to their respective area of production on the shop floor. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work effectively in a construction site environment. The candidate will be required to inspect and clean fabricated parts to ensure the edges are rounded and free of metal burrs, which will involve the use of a grinding equipment and other fabrication tools. It is vital that safety procedures and protocol are strictly followed, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. This role requires a candidate who needs little assistance in performance of tasks and is self motivated and driven to complete assignments given by management and shop supervision. Responsibilities Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications. Organize, sort, and deliver parts and sub assembled parts to their next phase of fabrication in the corresponding work area of the shop. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Frequent operation of shop material handling equipment including fork lift vehicles and overhead lifting cranes Experience One or more years in a fabrication or assembly environment is preferred Requirements Ability to read blueprints Working knowledge of general math Physically able to climb ladders - no fear of heights Physically able to lift at least 60 lbs.
