Part-Time Warehouse Associate – Flooring & Sundries
High plains flooringDescription: The Part-Time Warehouse Associate – Flooring & Sundries is responsible for helping maintain an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse while ensuring materials are properly received, stored, tracked, and prepared for upcoming jobs. This position will primarily handle flooring products, installation materials, and sundries. The Warehouse Associate will work closely with office staff and installers to make sure materials are accounted for, organized by job, and ready when needed. Primary Responsibilities Receive and unload incoming flooring, window covering, and sundry deliveries. Check incoming products against job information and available receiving paperwork. Inspect materials for visible damage, missing items, or incorrect products. Report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials to office staff. Label and organize materials by customer and job. Pull and stage flooring and sundries for upcoming installations. Make sure staged jobs have the appropriate materials available before installers arrive. Assist installers with locating and loading materials. Organize flooring, transitions, adhesives, underlayment, tack strip, setting materials, and other installation sundries. Maintain and monitor warehouse inventory and report low, missing, or misplaced stock. Keep inventory and job materials stored in their designated areas. Use company computer and inventory systems to review job information and material details. Enter, update, or verify inventory and material information as needed. Maintain accurate electronic records related to received materials, inventory, and staged jobs. Learn and use company software and inventory systems as required for the position. Communicate material discrepancies or warehouse concerns to appropriate office staff. Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and organized. Break down packaging and dispose of warehouse debris as needed. Occasionally assist with local material deliveries or pickups as needed. Requirements: Dependable and punctual. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to accurately match materials to customers and jobs. Ability to follow instructions and established warehouse procedures. Ability to work independently and manage daily warehouse responsibilities. Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs independently . Ability to safely move materials weighing over 50 lbs with assistance or appropriate equipment . Ability to handle bulky flooring materials, including tile, LVP, laminate, adhesives, sundries, and other installation products. Comfortable regularly standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving materials throughout the shift. Comfortable loading and unloading trucks and assisting installers with loading materials. Ability to safely use carts, dollies, and other warehouse equipment. Ability to recognize and report damaged, missing, or incorrect materials. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company inventory and job-management software. Ability to accurately enter, update, and review inventory and material information in company systems. Good communication skills and ability to communicate material or inventory concerns to office staff. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Previous warehouse, flooring, construction, delivery, inventory, or material-handling experience is preferred, but not required. Valid driver’s license preferred for occasional deliveries or material pickups.
