Part-Time Transportation Driver Midwest Disability Services Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour Schedule: Part-Time | Split Shift Hours: 6:30 AM–8:30 AM & 2:30 PM–4:30 PM Location: Omaha, Nebraska Position Summary Midwest Disability Services is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and compassionate Part-Time Transportation Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for individuals receiving services through our organization. The Transportation Driver is responsible for transporting participants to and from day services and other approved locations. This position is ideal for someone looking for consistent part-time hours who enjoys driving, working with people, and making a positive difference in the community. Work Schedule This position works a split-shift schedule : Morning Route: 6:30 AM–8:30 AM Afternoon Route: 2:30 PM–4:30 PM Approximately 4 hours per day Dependable and consistent attendance for both routes is essential. Key Responsibilities Safely transport participants to and from scheduled locations. Follow assigned transportation routes and schedules while maintaining timely pickups and drop-offs. Provide courteous and respectful assistance to participants entering and exiting vehicles. Ensure participants are safely secured with seat belts and other approved safety equipment when applicable. Follow all traffic laws, transportation procedures, and agency safety requirements. Complete required vehicle inspections before and after routes. Immediately report vehicle concerns, accidents, incidents, participant concerns, or safety issues to agency leadership. Maintain cleanliness and organization of agency vehicles. Communicate professionally with participants, guardians, Shared Living Providers, families, staff, and agency leadership. Maintain participant confidentiality and professional boundaries. Follow individualized participant safety and support needs while providing transportation. Complete required documentation accurately and on time. Participate in required agency training and meetings. Perform other transportation or participant-support duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving. Must be at least 19 years of age. Must be able to safely operate agency vehicles. Must be dependable and able to consistently work both the morning and afternoon transportation routes . Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and respectful communication. Must be able to work independently and respond appropriately to unexpected situations. Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required. Previous professional driving, transportation, caregiving, or human-services experience is a plus. Must successfully complete required background checks and agency onboarding requirements. Must complete all required training for the position. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to safely enter and exit vehicles throughout the shift, assist participants as appropriate, sit and drive for extended periods, and perform routine vehicle safety checks.
