The opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to start a relationship with a fast-growing technology company where you can work with autonomy and be involved in highly impactful work. Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Specialist, this is a part-time position of up to 16 hours per week to assist with logistics management and material supply activity in support of customer orders and inventory management. Additionally, this person may manage some routine purchasing activity for kanban replenishment orders. This is an ideal position for someone with previous work experience who is pursuing supply chain certification, or for someone stepping back from a full-time career who wants to continue working part-time. The position is based in Kanata, Ontario, Canada. Responsibilities Logistics coordination, assisting order packing and shipment completion Goods delivery scheduling, tracking and expediting overdue shipments Production replenishment order purchasing Purchase expense materials required by Engineering and Production Departments Monitoring inventory levels and periodic inventory counts, assists with quarterly inventory counts Maintains and updates our kanban procurement signalling system Qualifications and experience Post-secondary education in supply chain, business or accounting 2 or more years experience in purchasing or supply chain role preferably with experience that includes sourcing of electronic components Highly proficient in Excel, Word, and other office tools and software Knowledge and experience using ERP/Accounting systems for purchasing and inventory management Knowledge of international shipping, customs clearance processes, and commercial invoice preparation Experience working with freight carriers, customs brokers, and international shipment documentation Understanding of import/export requirements and regulatory compliance for global shipments Personal attributes You are a self-starter and you have the ability to juggle shifting priorities Possess excellent relationship skills You have a mechanical aptitude You are high energy, and you are the kind of person that others like to work with You are a team player who is able to work collaboratively Ability to successfully meet committed deadlines Why work for us?
