Seasonal Warehouse Processor Department : Warehouse & Distribution Reports To : Warehouse Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt (hourly); Part-Time; Seasonal/Temporary Pay : $18.94 per hour Hours : Part-time; day shift; 7.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid meal break Season : Immediate start through December 24, 2026 Copperfield’s Books, an independent bookstore, has been part of this community since 1981. If you love books and like hands-on, behind-the-scenes work, help us through our busiest season. Based in our Santa Rosa warehouse, you’ll process the new titles and gift items that stock our nine stores across Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties through the holidays. Summary The Seasonal Warehouse Processor supports warehouse operations during the holiday season by receiving, processing, and preparing books and sidelines products for distribution to our stores. This is a part-time, temporary position for a defined seasonal period. This position does not drive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Warehouse Processor · Unpacks incoming shipments and checks contents against packing slips and invoices · Uploads, cleans, prices and stickers books or sidelines products · Completes receiving and return batches in the inventory tracking system · Sorts and packs processed product for delivery to stores · Pulls and packs returns to publishers and vendors · Reports damaged, missing, or mislabeled product to the Warehouse Manager · Files appropriate paperwork as needed · Breaks down boxes and handles recycling · Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area Minimum Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · Regularly lift and carry boxes of books up to 50 pounds unassisted; heavier items are moved with a team lift or equipment · Push and pull loaded carts and hand trucks · Stand and walk for extended periods; seating is provided for tasks that can reasonably be performed seated · Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and reach, including overhead to upper shelving · Use a step stool or ladder to reach upper shelves · Repetitive hand and wrist motion for pricing, stickering, scanning, and data entry · Close vision sufficient to read small print such as ISBNs, barcodes, and price labels · Safely use a box cutter and tape gun Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
