Shred Works is looking for a dependable, hardworking Part-Time Route Driver to join our team. This is a hands-on position combining driving, customer service, and physical work throughout the Bay Area. Our drivers spend most of their day in the field and are trusted to independently manage their assigned routes. Applicants must be at least 23 years old due to our commercial vehicle insurance requirements. CDL is not required. Class A and Class B drivers are welcome to apply. We are also open to candidates with strong potential who can train into a full Route Driver position. Responsibilities Drive company box trucks and mobile shred trucks Independently manage scheduled customer routes Use company routing/invoicing software daily Provide professional and friendly customer service Load and unload trucks Deliver and service secure shredding containers Handle file boxes generally weighing 30–60 lbs. Push and pull loaded rolling containers weighing approx. 200–300 lbs. Safely handle and transport confidential materials Follow route instructions, safety procedures, and company policies Qualifications Valid California driver’s license CDL not required; Class A and Class B drivers welcome Truck-driving experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate into a driver position No driver’s license suspension or revocation within the past 5 years Comfortable using a smartphone/tablet and routing/invoicing software Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Good communication and customer-service skills Able to perform physically demanding work and lift/push up to 100 lbs. when required Employment is subject to applicable background screening and drug testing requirements Schedule Most shifts are Monday–Friday, generally starting around 6:00 AM. Typical shifts are 5–9 hours depending on the day’s route and workload. A minimum of approximately 25 hours per week is available, with opportunities for additional hours up to approximately 40. Employees who bring a great attitude, show initiative, and are eager to work will have opportunities for additional hours and responsibilities as work is available. Occasional evening work, overtime, and Saturday shred events may also be available.
