Part-Time Pickup Courier

Overview Quintara Biosciences provides DNA sequencing and related services. We are seeking a dependable long-term part-time courier to collect samples from designated drop boxes in the TMC area and deliver them to a nearby designated UPS location for same-day shipment. Laboratory or other approved handoffs may occasionally be assigned. Most pickups do not require meeting customers in person. This is primarily a walking and scooter-based pickup route, not a continuous driving route. A typical day involves approximately 20 pickup locations, with stops adjusted as business needs change. Drive your personal vehicle to the work area, park in a designated parking area, then walk or use a company-provided scooter between nearby buildings. Use the scooter when weather and site conditions permit; otherwise, complete pickups on foot. A personal vehicle is still required to reach the area, travel between areas when needed, and take collected samples to UPS. Route and procedure training will be provided. Work Schedul and Pay Work Monday through Friday. Be ready to begin the first pickup at 3:30 PM, rather than departing from home or just arriving in the general area at that time. UPS drop-off normally must be completed before 6:00 PM. The current route typically takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Actual finish time may vary with assignments, traffic and access conditions. Pay is $25 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of four paid hours ($100) per regular workday. You may finish once all assigned duties, handoffs and required records are complete; you do not need to stay on duty just to reach four hours. Record all actual work time. If work exceeds four hours, all actual hours worked will be paid. Ordinary route mileage, fuel and vehicle-use expenses are included in the hourly rate; there is no separate vehicle allowance. A fixed daily parking allowance is provided separately under company policy. Primary Responsibilities Review daily tasks and updates, learn drop-box locations and access instructions, and complete every assigned stop accurately and on time without missing pickups or taking the wrong items. Collect, secure, sort and package samples as instructed. Complete UPS handoff before the actual acceptance or final pickup cutoff, which may be earlier than the store closing time. Use required apps, spreadsheets and communication tools to update pickup results, upload photos, and provide UPS tracking numbers and drop-off receipts. Record and photograph empty drop boxes as instructed. Promptly report access problems, missing or leaking samples, delays and other exceptions. Communicate with building management, security, reception staff or customers when needed. Help install, clean, restock, replace, relocate or remove drop boxes, and report changes to locations or access information. Follow the Logistics Supervisor's directions and complete other reasonable, related logistics duties during work time, including special pickups, local deliveries and materials transport. Duties and priorities may change with business needs and are not limited to this list. Qualifications Reliable attendance and punctuality, with consistent Monday-Friday availability. Candidates seeking a long-term role and expecting to remain available for at least six months are preferred. Work efficiently and carefully, manage a time-sensitive multi-stop route, and maintain pickup accuracy while meeting deadlines. Able to perform substantial walking between buildings, carry light sample packages, and safely use a scooter when appropriate, with or without reasonable accommodation. Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and automobile insurance appropriate for required work-related driving. Able to learn the route independently, manage time, adapt to reasonable task changes, and complete required access-badge applications, identity verification and training.
