Cavossa Disposal Corporation is seeking a dependable and organized Part-Time Parts Runner to temporarily assist our operations while a team member is out. This is currently intended to be a short-term coverage position; however, depending on business needs and the individual’s performance, aptitude, and attitude, there may be an opportunity for continued employment in another capacity. The Parts Runner will primarily support our Diesel Shop and Weld Shop by picking up and delivering parts, supplies, and materials to and from vendors and other locations throughout the area. Responsibilities Pick up diesel truck, heavy equipment, welding, and other operational parts from local vendors and suppliers. Deliver parts and supplies to our Diesel Shop, Weld Shop, and other company locations as directed. Verify that the correct parts, quantities, and materials are received before leaving a vendor whenever reasonably possible. Review purchase orders, receipts, part numbers, or other information to ensure pickups are accurate. Communicate promptly with the Shop or appropriate supervisor if a part is unavailable, incorrect, damaged, or otherwise does not match the requested item. Complete multiple pickups and deliveries efficiently while following the priorities provided by the Shop. Safely operate a company-provided pickup truck. Keep the company vehicle reasonably clean and report any vehicle concerns or damage. Maintain receipts, invoices, packing slips, or other paperwork associated with pickups and deliveries. Assist with other light shop, parts, or general support tasks as needed and as time allows. Qualifications Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver’s License required. Clean and acceptable driving record required. Must be comfortable driving a company pickup truck to a variety of locations. Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and stay on task. Strong attention to detail — picking up the correct part the first time is essential. Able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with vendors, mechanics, welders, and supervisors. Efficient and able to manage time appropriately when completing multiple errands. Professional and courteous when representing Cavossa at vendor and supplier locations. Basic familiarity with automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or mechanical parts is helpful but not required. Company Vehicle & Driving Expectations A company pickup truck will be provided for work-related travel. Company vehicles may be equipped with GPS and other vehicle-monitoring technology. Employees are expected to operate company vehicles safely, responsibly, and for authorized business purposes only. This position is a great fit for someone who is dependable, likes being on the move, and can be trusted to complete assignments accurately and efficiently. Mechanical or parts knowledge is a plus, but reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are most important.
