Part time/ on call class 1 driver for dump truck and pony

Job Overview We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Class 1 Driver for part-time, on-call work operating a dump truck and pony trailer. This role supports the transportation of materials and freight to and from job sites, with assignments scheduled as needed. The successful candidate will operate vehicles and equipment responsibly, follow site and road-safety procedures, and help keep vehicles and work areas in good condition. Responsibilities Safely operate a Class 1 dump truck and pony trailer for scheduled and on-call assignments. Transport and deliver materials or freight to designated locations. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and report vehicle or equipment issues promptly. Secure loads appropriately and follow applicable road, site, and safety requirements. Assist with loading, unloading, and material handling when needed. Operate a forklift or other heavy equipment when qualified and assigned. Keep the truck, trailer, and work area clean and orderly. Support basic vehicle upkeep and communicate maintenance needs. Qualifications Valid Class 1 driver’s licence and a safe driving record. Experience with commercial driving, dump trucks, and trailer operation is preferred. Familiarity with freight handling and load securement is an asset. Forklift certification or experience is an asset. Experience operating heavy equipment is an asset. Basic automotive repair or mechanical knowledge is an asset. Reliable, punctual, and able to respond to on-call work assignments. Able to follow instructions, work independently, and maintain a strong focus on safety. Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour Work Location: On the road
