Part-Time Liquor Store Clerk / (On-Call)

Overview We are seeking a reliable and personable Part-Time Liquor Store Clerk / (On-Call) to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining the store's appearance. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments - or willing to learn Provide product information and conduct product demos when necessary Upsell items to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction Maintain store merchandising standards, including restocking shelves and organizing displays Ensure compliance with all store policies regarding alcohol sales and age verification Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout shifts Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as needed Be able to lift up to 50lbs to stock and unload new inventory Skills Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus Strong customer service orientation with a friendly attitude Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail sales procedures Knowledge of merchandising techniques and product placement strategies Ability to upsell products effectively to enhance sales performance Organizational skills to manage time efficiently during busy periods Phone etiquette for professional customer interactions Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Multilingual capabilities to serve a diverse customer base effectively Familiarity with technology sales or product demos is advantageous but not required Serving it Right Have this or be willing to get it before starting work (if hired) Resume Please drop in Person to Shannon Monday to Friday between 9am to 3pm Alder Liquor Store at 27094 Fraser Highway, Aldergrove BC Hours will be evenings 4pm-11pm and weekends either 9am to 4pm or 4pm to 11pm On-call hours may be available as well Pay: $18.25 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week Benefits: Flexible schedule On-site parking Store discount Work Location: In person
