A Medical Office Courier is a professional responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of interoffice mail, outgoing mail, medical documents, vaccines, medical supplies, and bank deposits between healthcare facilities, the post office, and the bank. Their role involves ensuring that all items are handled with care, in compliance with safety regulations, and delivered securely to the correct recipients. The courier must maintain confidentiality regarding patient information and sensitive medical materials. Key duties include organizing delivery schedules, inspecting packages for accuracy and condition, adhering to health and safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with regulations such as HIPAA for medical privacy. The position may require physical stamina for lifting and carrying items, as well as proficiency in navigating local routes. A high level of professionalism and attention to detail is crucial for this role. Part Time Around 20 hours per week 4 days per week, 8am-1pm $16-20/hour depending on experience Courier Essential Duties and Tasks Safely transport interoffice mail, outgoing mail, medical documents, vaccines, medical supplies, and bank deposits to PriMED office locations, the US Post Office, and the bank Ensure all deliveries and pick-ups are completed in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to scheduled routes and deadlines. Maintain the confidentiality of all patient information and sensitive medical materials in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations. Inspect mail and packages for accuracy, condition, and proper documentation before transport. Ensure that all medical items, including vaccines, are securely stored, and transported to prevent damage, contamination, or loss. Communicate effectively with PriMED care team members and other stakeholders to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups. Complete sign outs at the office for bank deposits Follow all safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling of biohazardous materials and medical equipment. Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and ensure the vehicle is clean and in good working condition. Arrange drop off and pick up when maintenance is required to be performed on the vehicle. Courier Qualifications, Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Previous experience as a courier, driver, or in a similar role is preferred, especially within a healthcare setting Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality is a plus Ability to lift and carry packages up to 10 lbs. and perform physical tasks related to the job Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to navigate local areas efficiently using GPS or maps Knowledge of safety and health regulations related to medical transportation Courier Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
