JOB DESCRIPTION The Class A Mobilizer and Dump Truck Driver is a versatile, hands-on role essential to the successful execution of Gallant Construction projects. This position is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment, construction materials, and machinery to and from job sites, ensuring timely mobilization and efficient project operations. As a Class A Mobilizer, you will coordinate and execute the transportation, loading, unloading, and positioning of equipment and materials to support project schedules. As a Dump Truck Driver, you will operate commercial dump trucks to haul aggregate, soil, demolition debris, and other construction materials while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. The ideal candidate holds a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), demonstrates strong equipment operation and safety awareness, and takes pride in maintaining company vehicles and equipment. REQUIREMENTS Strong work ethic Shared Core Values Ability to push, pull, and/or lift objects over 50 lbs. High school diploma or GED. Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate. Clean driving record. Proven experience operating a standard dump truck. Working knowledge of construction site safety, truck maintenance, and road safety regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Effective communication skills. RESPONSIBILITIES Mobilization Duties (Class A Focus): Operate Class A commercial vehicles (e.g., tractor-trailers, dump trucks) to transport construction equipment, materials, and tools to and from job sites, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols. Coordinate site mobilization , including unloading and positioning heavy machinery, erecting temporary fencing and scaffolding, and setting up utilities (e.g., power and water connections). Conduct pre-mobilization inspections of vehicles and equipment , and perform basic maintenance, such as fueling, greasing, and securing loads. Collaborate with project managers to plan logistics for efficient material delivery and site preparation, minimizing downtime. Demobilize sites at project completion , safely loading and returning equipment to storage facilities. Trucking Duties (Class A and B Focus): Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate dump trucks safely and efficiently, transporting materials to and from job sites while following DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies. Vehicle Inspections & Maintenance: Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and promptly report mechanical issues or damage. Loading & Unloading: Ensure proper loading, weight distribution, load securement, and safe unloading procedures while maintaining awareness of job site hazards.
