We’re looking for a dependable, safety-minded CDL driver who takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently, and wants a consistent part-time schedule with the opportunity for additional hours! This position is ideal for someone who enjoys driving but is also willing to roll up their sleeves and help with the day-to-day operations of a growing sanitation company. This is not a driving-only position. Additional hands-on duties are a required part of the job. Job Responsibilities Driving & Route Operations Safely operate a CDL-required trash collection truck along assigned routes Collect residential trash and/or recycling according to route schedules Safely operate truck controls and collection equipment Complete assigned stops efficiently while following company procedures Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Report maintenance concerns, vehicle issues, and safety hazards promptly Provide courteous, professional service to our customers Additional Hands-On Duties — Required In addition to driving and route collection, employees will be expected to assist with other company operations as needed, including but not limited to: Truck cleaning and basic maintenance: Keep trucks clean, organized, and presentable; assist with routine upkeep and report mechanical issues Yard cleanup and organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized company yard and work areas Can and toter cleanup: Clean, organize, and prepare trash and recycling containers for service Toter and dumpster deliveries: Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and delivering trash and recycling containers and dumpsters as assigned General operational support: Perform other reasonable job-related duties and tasks as requested by company owners or managers Important: Applicants must be comfortable performing both driving and non-driving duties. Work may involve physical activity, bending, lifting, carrying, moving containers, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position requires flexibility to help wherever needed to support daily operations. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle being operated Ability to pass a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review Successful completion of required pre-employment drug screening Willingness to participate in required ongoing and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policy Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and operate a commercial vehicle safely Willingness to perform physical, hands-on duties in addition to driving Must be available to work every Monday and Tuesday Must be available for full workdays when route demands require it, although not every workday will necessarily be a full day Willingness to complete a required 90-day probationary period Experience operating a trash truck, particularly an automated side-loader, is a plus!
