Job Summary Join our dedicated emergency response team as a Part-Time 911 Dispatcher, where your quick thinking and compassionate communication will be vital in providing life-saving assistance. In this fast-paced role, you will operate advanced radio and computer-aided dispatch systems to coordinate emergency services, assist callers with critical information, and ensure rapid response to incidents. Your expertise in emergency communication, law enforcement procedures, and medical support will make a real difference in our community’s safety and well-being. This position offers flexible hours for motivated individuals eager to serve with energy and professionalism. Duties Receive and prioritize emergency calls using multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Utilize computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software to log incidents accurately, enter data efficiently, and track response units in real time. Provide clear instructions to callers through phone triage, including basic first aid, CPR guidance, or other first aid procedures as needed. Coordinate with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, emergency medical services (EMS), and other first responders via radio communication systems. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to determine precise locations of incidents and dispatch appropriate resources swiftly. Maintain calm and professional interactions during high-stress situations while managing conflict or tense conversations effectively. Document all communications thoroughly, including transcription of calls when necessary, ensuring accuracy for legal and operational purposes. Qualifications . Technical proficiency with radio communication systems, CAD software, GPS technology, and multi-line telephony. CPR certification, and first aid training is advantageous. Excellent analysis skills for assessing situations quickly and making sound decisions under pressure. Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Demonstrated typing speed and data entry accuracy; familiarity with transcription or note-taking during emergencies is a plus. Ability to manage conflict professionally while maintaining focus on safety priorities; experience in security or customer service roles is beneficial.
