JOB SUMMARY: The Panel Shop Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of an electrical control panel shop, with a primary focus on inventory management, material planning, and production support. This position ensures the timely availability, accuracy, and control of materials required to support panel fabrication and project schedules. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Coordinate panel shop priorities, workloads, and production schedules based on project requirements and delivery commitments. Review job packages, bills of material, electrical drawings, specifications, and revision information before work is released to the shop. Confirm that required components, hardware, tools, drawings, and documentation are available for scheduled builds. Track material shortages, substitutions, back orders, and damaged or incorrect items; communicate impacts and support timely resolution. Report and help resolve inventory discrepancies and manufacturing shortages, documenting issues and communicating potential production impacts to the appropriate teams. Coordinate material moves in designated drop zones with material handlers to support production priorities and maintain organized material flow. Coordinate with vendor-managed inventory (VMI) suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain appropriate stock levels, address replenishment needs, and resolve material availability issues. Serve as the primary point of coordination among panel builders, supervisors, Leads, purchasing, quality, and other internal partners. Monitor work in progress, identify schedule or quality risks, and escalate issues with recommended corrective actions. Coordinate inspection, testing, labeling, documentation, packaging, and shipment readiness for completed panels. Maintain accurate production status, labor, material, shortage, rework, and completion records in applicable systems. Promote good housekeeping, organized material flow, proper tool use, and safe work practices throughout the shop. Participate in continuous-improvement activities related to workflow, quality, productivity, inventory control, and on-time delivery. Assist with workload planning, cross-training, onboarding, and daily direction of shop personnel as assigned. Other duties as assigned TRAVEL DEMANDS: Occasional travel may be required. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Working knowledge of electrical control panels, common industrial electrical components, wiring practices, and shop processes. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, bills of material, work instructions, and technical specifications.
