Key Responsibilities
• Operate electric and manual pallet jacks safely to transport heavy mail containers and loaded pallets across the facility
• Stage incoming pallets at designated sorting zones and loading docks to keep processing lines moving smoothly
• Load and unload heavy commercial trailers, positioning freight carefully to maximize transport vehicle space
• Perform routine daily safety inspections on pallet jacks, reporting any mechanical issues or battery charging needs immediately
• Shrink wrap and secure unstable mail pallets before transit to prevent package shifting or damage
• Assist with physical inventory organization, stacking pallets in designated staging grids while maintaining clear fire lanes

Requirements and Qualifications
• Must be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident alien
• Must be at least eighteen years old or sixteen years old with a high school diploma
• Ability to pass a mandatory background check, federal drug screening, and physical fitness evaluation
• Physical capacity to lift up to seventy pounds independently and stand, walk, or steer for long durations
• Ability to complete internal postal service safety training and obtain an electric pallet jack operator certification
• Strong reading and communication skills in English to read warehouse grid maps, warning labels, and staging manifests
