Packing and Shipping Specialist
ConfidentialJob Summary We're hiring a packing and shipping specialist to get customer orders out the door on time. Your shift centers on picking items from the shelves and boxing them up with the right padding and a shipping label. Orders usually build up through the morning, and the truck leaves at a set time whether or not the last few cartons are ready. It's steady work. You'll be on your feet, moving between the shelves and the packing tables. We'll go over the scanner and label printer during your first few shifts. Responsibilities Pulling items off the shelves for each order. Pack items snugly with tape and padding so nothing breaks on the way. Shipping labels, printed and stuck on straight. Check each box against the packing slip before sealing it, and flag a lead if the count is off so it gets fixed before the truck arrives. Restock boxes and tape when they run low. Sweeping the packing area at the end of the shift. Sometimes helping unload deliveries. Qualifications Being on time for your scheduled shifts matters, since the carrier pickup doesn't move. You catch small things like a wrong size or a smudged label, even when the afternoon gets hectic. When orders stack up, working through them one at a time and watching the clock is what gets the truck loaded. Being comfortable with a computer typically means scanning a barcode or typing in a tracking number, that's about all we ask. Coworkers cover for each other during rushes, so being a team player counts for a lot. Staying calm when things get busy makes the whole shift run better. You're willing to learn our system and ask questions when you're unsure.
