Packing and Shipping Specialist

Job Summary We’re looking for someone to handle our daily packing and shipping workflow. Most of your time goes toward preparing outgoing orders, wrapping products so they arrive undamaged, and getting the right labels on the right boxes. It’s steady work. You’ll also help receive incoming stock, check it against packing slips, and put things where they belong on the shelves. Some days the volume picks up and you’ll need to keep moving without losing track of what’s gone out and what hasn’t, but generally the pace is something you can settle into once you know the routine. Responsibilities Pack orders using appropriate boxes, mailers, and filler material based on item size and fragility. Weighing and labeling outgoing packages through our shipping system. Sort incoming deliveries at the dock. Restock tape, bubble wrap, and boxes in the packing area before they run out. Light cleanup and cardboard breakdown at the end of each shift. Flagging damaged or incorrect items before they leave the building, then setting them aside so someone can follow up. Updating order status on the computer once packages are handed off to the carrier. Qualifications You notice small details others might skip over, like a wrong zip code on a label or a box that doesn’t quite fit the item. When the schedule shifts or priorities change partway through the day, you adjust without needing to be walked through it. Standing and moving around for most of your shift is something you’re comfortable with, including lifting packages up to about 40 pounds. You show up when you’re scheduled and you stay through the shift, that’s often what matters most here. Reading packing slips and looking up order info on a screen doesn’t slow you down. If something comes up mid-task, you typically handle it or flag it rather than waiting to be told what to do. You’re generally easy to work with and communicate clearly enough that the team stays on the same page.
