Packing and Shipping Specialist

Job Summary We're looking for a packing and shipping specialist to get customer orders boxed and out the door each day. You'll pull items from the shelves and pack each order with the right padding and label before the carrier arrives. Order volume picks up in the afternoon, and the pickup time doesn't change no matter how many cartons are still open on the table. It's physical work. You'll walk a lot and lift boxes throughout the shift, so comfortable shoes help. We'll show you the scanner and label printer when you start, and that's usually all the setup you need. Responsibilities Pulling items off the shelves for each order. Pack items snugly with tape and padding so nothing shifts or breaks in transit. Shipping labels, printed and stuck on straight. Check each box against the packing slip before sealing it, and let a lead know if the count is off so the mistake gets fixed before the truck shows up, not after a customer calls. Restock boxes, tape, and bubble wrap as they run low. Sweeping the packing area at the end of the shift. Sometimes helping unload deliveries. Qualifications Being on time for your scheduled shifts matters, since the carrier pickup doesn't move. You catch small things like a wrong size or a smudged label, even when the afternoon gets hectic. When orders stack up, taking them one at a time and keeping an eye on the clock is what gets the truck loaded. Being comfortable with a computer generally means scanning a barcode or typing in a tracking number, and that's about all we ask. Coworkers cover for each other during rushes, so being a team player counts for a lot. Staying calm when things get busy makes the whole shift run better. You're willing to learn our system and ask questions when you're unsure.
