Overview: Allweather Wood Company (AWW) is looking for Packaging Laborers to join our full-line manufacturing and distribution facility in Medford, OR . This is a non-exempt position at an hourly rate of $24.87 and includes benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and 401K match. To learn more about our benefits click Here Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market. Responsibilities: The Packaging Laborer performs a variety of production support duties, including banding, tagging, wrapping, and other packaging-related tasks. This position is responsible for maintaining clean, organized, and safe work areas while supporting production operations. Employees are assigned to various duties as needed to meet production requirements and business needs. Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Perform lumber piece pulls Apply and remove banding as needed Operate and utilize the lumber track (computer) system Operate forklifts safely and efficiently Maintain cleanliness and perform general housekeeping duties Complete barcoding activities accurately Provide relief support for machine operators Assist on the lumber wrap line Support lumber treater operations as a helper Conduct inventory and cycle counts Work in various departments as needed Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times Qualifications: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or a minimum of one (1) month of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Forklift certification preferred, or the ability to successfully complete training and obtain certification. Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to follow instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form and apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks Basic reading and writing skills, including the ability to read instructions and memos and write simple sentences Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to stand for extended periods and walk short distances to inspect lumber Frequently uses hands and fingers to control the flow of lumber through equipment, including operating buttons and control switches Occasionally required to kneel, stoop, and bend to perform tasks such as feeding materials into racks or addressing equipment issues Uses hand tools such as staplers, barcode scanners, and rubber mallets on an occasional basis May operate a handheld tool (up to approximately 10 pounds) using repetitive or controlled motion Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation May be required to climb into and out of equipment such as forklifts or Bobcats May be required to …
