Position Summary: Plan, direct, or coordinate the purchase of supplies, materials, and products necessary for the manufacturing of dietary supplements that meet company and customer quality specifications, price points, and timelines. Creating wealth through profits and growth Essential Functions and Responsibilities to ensure the quality and safety of the product will include, but not be limited to: Review product specifications to maintain a working technical knowledge of the goods or services to be purchased. Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations. Locate and evaluate vendors, to determine product quality, availability and terms of sales and monitor the performance of existing vendors to determine needed changes. Study sales records, inventory levels of current stock, and analyze market and delivery systems to develop strategic purchasing programs that to maintain reasonable levels of inventory. Support Manager’s negotiations with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives. Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price for the needed quantities and time frame. Prepare reports regarding market conditions, merchandise costs, and vendor performance. Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to unacceptable, undelivered, or goods that arrive late. Provide information or indication of problems to Management or Quality Assurance. Perform duties safely and to report unsafe conditions or actions. Reports to work regularly and on time. Assists in other duties as needed and directed. Minimum Qualifications: Mathematical Skills – Accuracy with arithmetic, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, percentages, fractions, and basic algebra. Language Skills – Must be able to communicate complex concepts in English, verbally and in writing. Computer Skills – Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel in particular and have a thorough understanding of inventory software, time keeping or other business related software. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skilled in monitoring, troubleshooting, critical thinking, process control, time management, following through, relationship building, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Demonstrate strong attention to detail, orientation to quality, deductive reasoning, problem sensitivity, problem solving, skilled at decision making, and customer service. Knowledge of food production processing, cGMP’s.
