Package Handler

Overview As a Package Handler, you’ll keep shipments moving by sorting, processing, and preparing packages and mail for delivery. You’ll use warehouse tools and technology, stay organized in a fast-paced environment, and work indoors or outdoors as needed. This hands-on role is a great fit for someone who enjoys active work and takes pride in accurate, dependable service. Responsibilities Sort shipments and mail by destination, route, or processing requirements; use an RF (radio frequency) scanner to track items. Load and unload packages, perform manual handling, and operate material handling equipment, including forklifts when authorized. Support warehouse distribution, shipping and receiving, mail processing, and mail distribution; operate automatic inserting machines as needed. Complete basic data entry and filing, use Microsoft Office, and apply basic math to verify counts and shipment details. Keep work areas organized, follow safe handling practices, and provide helpful customer service when questions arise. Your impact: Accurate sorting and careful handling help customers and delivery teams receive the right shipments on time. Requirements Able to perform heavy lifting and repetitive manual handling, and work on your feet in a warehouse setting. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures in busy warehouse operations. Basic math and data entry skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office is helpful. Warehouse experience, including warehouse distribution, shipment sorting, shipping and receiving, or mail processing, is preferred. Experience with forklifts, RF scanners, automatic inserting machines, or other material handling equipment is preferred; outdoor work experience is also helpful.
