Package Handler

Overview As a Package Handler, you’ll keep warehouse distribution moving by sorting, processing, and preparing packages and mail for delivery. You’ll use a radio frequency (RF) scanner and material handling equipment to track and move shipments, while following safe procedures for manual handling and outdoor work. Your impact: Accurate sorting and careful loading help customers receive their shipments reliably and on time. Responsibilities Sort shipments by destination and prepare items for mail distribution and mail processing. Load and unload packages; move materials using a forklift or other material handling equipment when qualified. Operate automatic inserting machines and use an RF scanner to record shipment activity. Complete data entry, basic math checks, filing, and related records using Microsoft Office. Keep work areas organized and provide helpful customer service when responding to shipment questions. Experience Warehouse experience, including warehouse operations or warehouse distribution, is helpful; related experience in outdoor work is also welcome. Familiarity with materials handling, manual handling, shipment sorting, and load-and-unload tasks is preferred. Forklift or other material handling equipment operation experience is an asset. Bring organizational skills, basic math ability, and comfort with data entry, filing, and Microsoft Office. Able to perform heavy lifting and follow safe work practices throughout the shift.
